DAILY TOUR 2/PRIENE-MILETUS-DIDYMA TOUR

Depart From you hotel in the morning for priene which in its time was one of  the most spectacular of all the ancient lonians cities . Then travel on to Miletus with its magnificent theatre and the Byzantine fortress on the acropolis above.

Last, bur not least , visit Didyma. Here you will find the largest lonic temple in the world ,that of Apollo.

Also in Didyma  lies the huge , cracked head of Medusa which long ago fell from the frieze. Lunch is included in the tour as well as transfer back to your hotel.


Priene
An important Episcopal see in the Byzantine era , the ancient city priene north of nNorth of Miletus was given a very geometric desing of intersecting right angles. The most iImportant structure in the city is the Temple of the city is a 5000 person theater construc-ted in the Hellenistic era which is de-finitely worth seeing.

Miletus Located north of  Didim , Miletus was a coastal city with 4 ports and one of the most iImportant lonian settlements . Its golden age was the 7th and 6th centuries BC.
During this period thinkers in Miletus were putting down what would become the foundation of  Western science and culture. The 5300 person theater built in the Romans and had a final seating capacity of 15,000.

Didyma Near the town of Didim , it was the center of prophetic oracles in antiquity . The Temple of Apollon in Didim was planned as a dipteros ( having two rows of columns ) but was never finished.

        


DAILY TOUR 3/BERGAMA TOUR

Depart from your hotel in the morning and travel to the ancient site of pergamum . Here you will be delighted to visit the Asclepion and Healthy Centre . As you make your way to the acropolis , the Red Basilica , original a  Temple of  serapis , can be viewed.

The most beautiful structure is certainly the theatre ,   a remark-able piece of engine-ering  built into the steep hillside. Lunch is included in the tour as well as transfer back to you hotel.


The modern day name comes directly from its ancient name , Pergamum  . Known for centuries for its monuments , it was a great city and served as the centre of Pergamum Kingdom .
Its location made it strategic in the Middle Ages and it was the centre of the karesio
Ullari  principality before it finally became o part of the Ottoman state. The City s golden era was during the reign of Attalos I and his son Eumenes II, the time when an acropolis , theatre

And other important projects were completed . It was an important city in the Roman Period .The city experienced many developments during the reing of Hadrian  (117-138 AD) , and it was adorned with Roman works of art. In the Byzantine era after the spread of Christianity. Bergama was first under the influence of the bishopric of Ephesus , and then became a metropolis .
